I can honestly say this has been one of the best years for me in terms of consuming and listening to all kinds of records. I made it a weekly habit to seek out new things and listened to everything that was recommended to me. I don’t even know if it matters to say what my favorite FAVORITE records are because it’s all so subjective and about half of these I love equally. Hard to pick one. I know there’s 30+ records here but that’s like 10% of the total amount I listened to. These are the straight A students. But the ones who secretly do drugs. But get scholarships.

Movies were a different bag altogether. It was easy to contain my music choices within a 2020 release year, but movies basically shut down if they weren’t completed in 2019. One could argue that it’s not a list of favorites if many release dates were pushed back (this will be a 2021 Oscars debate for years) but I stand by these picks and included some older films. I caught up on a lot of stuff that’s been lingering in my have-to-watch list and was glad for it. Not everything here is a classic but it’s some stuff I really enjoyed or was surprised by. Again, no order, but the ones that I loved the most were Greener Grass and Waves. I love all these, but those two are unforgettable. And yes, this year I included TV because some of it just fucking ruled.
